JUANITA MAXINE HURD

Juanita Hurd, 91, went to her rest on April 28, 2024.  
Juanita Maxine was born July 20, 1932, to Earl McGhee and Lorena (Petree) McGhee, in Compton, Arkansas.
Juanita spent her early childhood in Compton, Arkansas. She had lots of stories of the fun she, her sister Oda, and her Plumlee cousins had there.
The family moved to Jerome, Idaho in 1940, where she grew up and completed her education. 
She met the love of her life, Ralph Hurd in Jerome. They were married on March 14, 1948. They were together for 63 years until Ralph’s passing, June 12, 2011.
Juanita and Ralph raised three children, Cynthia Lundstrom (Jim), Michael Hurd (Pam), and Stanley Hurd (Janis) (and his former wife Rhonda Nicholson). Juanita had 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 to be born in August.
Juanita is survived by her children, grandchildren, her sister Arnetha Anderson, brothers-in-law Jason Hurd and Ollie Adfleld. 
She was preceded in death by Ralph, her son Stanley Hurd, her son-in-law James Lundstrom, her parents, her sister Oda Stevens, her mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Esther Hurd, and 7 brothers and sisters-in-law.
Juanita was a devoted wife and mother. She was a loving and fun grandmother. Juanita was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and lived her faith every day.
The family would like to thank those who helped Juanita throughout her life and in her last days. Special thanks to Kati and Anahi for their devotion to her comfort and all the little extras. Thanks to Ann Fullmer, her physician, and Horizon Hospice.
There will be a graveside service for Juanita on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Jerome Cemetery. Juanita and Ralph will be laid to rest together as they always were in life.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray’s Jerome Memorial Chapel.
