Larry Earnest Floyd, November 30, 1947~August 19, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Earnest Floyd, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished friend, and respected employer, who left this world on August 19, 2025, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, at the age of 77. Born on November 30, 1947, in Holden, Oklahoma, Larry’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to those he held dear and the communities he served.
Larry’s journey took him from his roots in Oklahoma to the West Coast, where he met and married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Moorhous, on March 25, 1967, in Hesperia, California. Their union spanned nearly six decades, built on a foundation of mutual respect, shared adventures, and deep affection. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising a family that was the center of Larry’s world. As a father, he was a guiding light ~ always present, supportive, and quick to offer wisdom or a helping hand. His role as an employer extended that same sense of care; he led with integrity, fostering environments where others could thrive, and earning the admiration of colleagues and employees alike. Larry was a true innovator, fabricator, and entrepreneur. He built a successful grain milling business from the ground up, where he loved designing and building equipment alongside his dedicated employees. His passion for creation and collaboration defined his professional life, leaving a lasting impact on the industry and those who worked with him. In his personal life, you could often find Larry hanging out with his buddies at the local coffee shop circuit, engaging in quick wit, and enjoying the company of close friends. Known for his kind spirit and genuine friendship, Larry had a way of making everyone feel valued. Whether sharing stories from his early days, offering advice drawn from a life of hard work, or simply enjoying quiet moments with loved ones, he embodied the essence of a true gentleman. His legacy is one of quiet strength, generosity, and an enduring commitment to family and community that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie Floyd; his sons, Alan (Maryann) Floyd and their children; Emily, Branden, Andrew, Charlee, and Alana, Pat (Sherry) Floyd and their son Ethan, and Joel (Miah) Floyd and their children Matthew, Michael, Ellie, Brayden, Garrison, and Alannah; his twelve grandchildren; his four great grand-children; Eva, Henry, Hallie, and Alicia; his two younger brothers; Tom and Jeff Floyd; his two older sisters; Margo Jungers and Joan Hedrick; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents; R.E. “Jack” Floyd and Oma “Leona” Floyd. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Demaray’s Jerome Memorial Chapel.
