Linda Mae Smalley, 72, a longtime resident of Jerome, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at Creekside Care Center.
Linda was born on May 16, 1953, to Kenneth L. Smith, Sr., and Janet Elaine (Hanstein) Smith. She was raised in Pennsylvania and relocated to Idaho in the late 1970s. 
Friends and family remember her as a kind, spiritual woman who always had a warm smile and a ready sense of humor. Linda delighted in the soundtrack of the 1980s and 90s and loved nothing more than listening to her favorite songs while cruising with the top down on a convertible.
Linda was a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. She drew strength and comfort from her faith and enjoyed participating in parish events. Her gentle spirit and generous heart endeared her to many.
Linda is survived by her husband, Steve Smalley, and her three children: Terry Davis, Tony Davis, and Trinity Cook. She also leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren: Melody, Hannah, Jacob, Harley, Savannah, Taylor, Anthony, Tyson, Liam, Owen, Alyssa, and Gavin, along with extended family members and many treasured friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Janet Smith.
A Rosary will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Demaray’s Jerome Memorial Chapel; a viewing will follow until 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Jerome Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to return to St. Jerome Catholic Church for a luncheon following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jerome Catholic Church in Linda’s name.
Linda’s compassion, faith, and quiet strength touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed by her presence.
