Lula May Borges passed away peacefully at the age of 94, in the early morning hours on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Buhl, Idaho.
Lula was born on June 10, 1931, in Ottwell, Indiana, to Arthur Wesley Hancock and Ruth Virginia Eldred. She had one older sister, one younger sister, and one little brother. Lula was very close to her sisters, Lucille and Ivy. The three of them would dress alike and pose for photos.
As a young girl, Lula enjoyed playing the piano.
Lula’s early life was spent as a homemaker and an endearing mother. Lula loved bowling! She was an avid bowler and was a member of the T & G Livestock women’s bowling team. She won many awards, such as “The Presidential Award” and “Most Improved Average.”
In 1990, Lula decided to go to college and become a CNA. She was proud of her accomplishment and took pleasure in helping others.
Lula is preceded in death by Dennis J. Herman, Michael A. Herman, Kenneth E. Cordle, Ricky D. Borges, Lucille V. Miller, and Ivy M. Halbert.
She leaves behind Judith S. Allred of Missouri, Theresa (Tom) Norris of Twin Falls, Idaho, Diane E. Bumgarner of Tucson, Arizona, and Darrin (Rachelle) Borges of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She also leaves behind Terrie L.Osterhoudt and Barbie J. Brennan, and many grandchildren.
Informal Graveside Services will be held on Nov. 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Jerome Cemetery.
