Mary H. Luna, 82, of Jerome, passed away on Oct. 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on May 31, 1940 in Jerome, Idaho the daughter of Jessie (Garcia) and Tony Apodaca. She was raised and educated in Jerome.
She married Eugene O. Luna in August of 1962, in Tremonton, Utah.
Some of the things she enjoyed doing include: reading thick books (Native American, Westerns and Romance books), gardening flowers, art work, dancing, embroidering, sewing and crocheting. She was the Best Boxer of Jerome. She taught Alex J. Luna to read and be a hard worker and was so proud and encouraging him to be the best. He always listened to grandma and grandpa and can now be Mike Lowry "Thanks to Grandma Mary". She loved and cherished all her grand, and great-grandchildren. They were her life. She also taught her great grand daughter Rosalee Gome and her daughters to read, color inside line and today they also carry books as our Dear Mother did.
She is survived by 4 sons; Michael Garcia, Nicholas Garcia, Andres Alvarez, Jr, and Antonia Alvarez, 3 daughters; Veronica Rae (Luna) Inojosa, Monica (Luna) Reyes, and Geanie Marie (Luna) Ferreira, one sister Esther (Garcia) Contreas, 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by Antonia (Toni) Luna-Gomez, Eugene O. Luna, David M Luna, Larry E. Luna, Armani Magara, Xaitlali Magana, Norma Zammarripa, Vicki Zammarripa, Barbara Zammarripa, Jessie Garcia, Lupe Hernandez, and Aurora Medillin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 at Demaray's Jerome Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will follow at the Jerome Cemetery.
