Phyllis Elaine Stahn

Phyllis Elaine Carpender Stahn (94) of Jerome, Idaho, passed away peacefully of natural causes surrounded by family on July 5th, 2025.
Phyllis was born Dec 25, 1930, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, the daughter of David and Gladys Wolcott Carpender.
Phyllis moved from Nebraska to Caldwell, Idaho, in 1941. Graduated from Caldwell High School in 1949.
Phyllis married Chester Curtis Stahn on Nov 21, 1950, at Winnemucca, NV. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 22, 1960. They had 7 children in 11 years. Danny, Virginia, Rendena, Charles, Evelyn, Robert, Ernst.
Phyllis especially loved genealogy, oil painting, canning, gardening, games, cards, and traveling with family.
Phyllis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings in Relief Society, Young Women’s, and Primary. She also served a mission in Nova Scotia, Canada, with her sweetheart, Chester.
Phyllis is survived by her sister Glenda Larsen, sister in-law Joan Carpender, her daughters Virginia Blodgett, Rendena Rasmussen, Evelyn (Ernie) Lorensen and her sons Charles (Mercy) Stahn, Robert (Evone) Stahn, Ernst (Tina) Stahn, daughter in-law Tana, 44 grand children, and scads of great and great great grand kids.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her Eternal Companion, Chester Curtis, her parents David and Gladys Carpender, her brothers, Donovan (Joanne) Carpender, Marion (Lois), Bruce, Richard, her sister Shirley, son Dan, sons-in -law, Steve Blodgett and Verl Rasmussen, grandchildren Leah Gomm, Ben Gomm, Austin Rasmussen, Rick Parmelee, daughter-in-law Leeann (wife of Charles) Stahn, and great-grandson Brayden Burkman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 E 100 S, Jerome, Idaho.  Viewing will be held at the church from  10:30-11:30, with the Funeral Service at 12 pm.  Burial will follow at the Jerome Cemetery.
